One set mud tank with a skid to hold one set vertical cuttings dryer and one set decanter centrifuge , we choose variable speed vertical cuttings dryer and variable speed decanter centrifuge this time .

One set variable speed decanter centrifuge will be used to lay on top of tank to treat the fluids partical flow from vertical cuttings dryer which will be stored at a small holding tank . The decanter centrifuge can separate solids 2-7 microns which will enable to reuse fluids particals and delivery them back to solids control system .

One set variable speed vertical cutings dryer to dry water based mud drilling cuttings and or oil base mud drilling cuttings . The drilling cuttings normally contains too much fluids particals which will not be able to allowed to delivery . The vertical cuttings dryer treated drilling cuttings will make fluids content below 5 percent which get a great improvement for drilling cuttings .

There are different size of high speed decanter centrifuge from 220 mm diameter bowl to 360mm bowl , then to 450mm bowl and 550mm bowl . GN Solids Control Equipments in Houston Warehouse
GN Solids Control is a company located in Beijing, which is 40 minutes drive from Beijing airport. In the year of 2013, GN Solids Control registered GN Solids America LLC in Houston which owns the warehouse of about 700,000 SF.

Several notices to use GN decanter centrifuge
As more and more GN decanter centrifuges are using in the oil and gas industries for the drilling fluids management and water recycling, GN decanter centrifuges are helping more and more clients to protecting the environment.
Now GN Solids Control is manufacturing about 250 sets to 300 sets every year, most of these decanter centrifuges are using over abroad. In order to fulfill customers’ demands, GN usually sends out our engineers for the after sales service. 

There are several things that the operators need to know:
1. The wire connections need to be fully correct. Any wrong connections may lead to the damage of decanter centrifuge, and the separation work can not be reached.
2. The liquid discharge port should not be changed without allowance. For uncertain situations, we recommend to place a catching tank in the bottom of the liquid discharge port. Once the pipe connected with liquid discharge port is too small, fluids will be flooded from the small end and the VFD control panel will give a stop signal to the main motor for protection.
3. The initial feeding capacity should be too large. Although GN decanter centrifuge can deal with 130 GPM, different OBM or WBM has different density so the treating capacity is not always the same. For the clients have no idea about the feeding capacity, we recommend to give a relative small feeding capacity at first. If the solids discharged from the solids port is pretty dry, the feeding capacity can be increased. On the other side, if the solids with too much oil or water after being treating by decanter centrifuge, the operator should decrease the feeding capacity a little bit.
4. Clean the decanter centrifuge thoroughly after you finish the separation work every day. Keeping feeding some clean water into the centrifuge, some solids left in the collection box will be cleaned. And after the cleaning, spin the centrifuge manually to let the inside water come out.  

The Operation of GN Variable Decanter Centrifuge

In order to use GN decanter centrifuge well, today we would like to share you some info on how to operate it.
Before testing running, the operators need to disassemble the fix belts and supporting brackets on the bowl. All the belts and brackets are used for safety transporting. GN provide stand to support the whole decanter centrifuge in a proper height. Operators need to find a good locate the decanter centrifuge with stand. 

All the wires that connected to the VFD control cabinet is using air plug, and the four inside ports are used for connecting the power lines and ground line with the VFD control cabinet. Make sure to put the four ports in a right direction first. 

After read the decanter centrifuge carefully, you can run it according to the instruction. Check the rotating direction of the two motors, and make sure they are running the same direction as the red arrow showed on the case of the motors.
For the second version decanter centrifuge, you need to flush the rotating bowl and propeller some time after finishing the separation every day. Generally speaking, most of the decanter centrifuge broke down are caused by solids blocked in the bowl.  
Lubricate the necessary parts as the instruction says. A good maintenance can help to expand the life span.

For various reasons, liquid often contaminating with many solids objects
and some type of solids objects are harmful.
The decanter centrifuge use principle
of gravitational force through continues rotation in
vertical, horizontal and conveyor centrifuges.
Depending the RPM of the decanter centrifuge motor, it can produce the
rotation force in 1000 times and beyond on normal gravitational force. The separation time need it from minutes to
hours. The bowl tube that equip with
internal conveyor rotate in extreme high speed that moves in same direction but
at different velocity to achieve solids separation from liquid.

Many
industrial job use decanter centrifuge to perform separation and purification
purpose, some examples are environmental, medical, chemical, food, oil and gas
industry are commonly use this method for different purpose but achieve same
goal: the separation of solids from liquid. In fact, without this step of process, these

As many parts are quite vulnerable in transporting without some protecting measures. The principle of GN solids control is providing the brand new equipments with best quality. So GN engineers will take some necessary measures to keep solids control equipments in a very good condition.
Take GN decanter centrifuge as an example, due to the rotating bowl is quite heavy the two supporting bearings will be destroyed when its keep rotating on the way. So GN engineers will use two cloth belts to tighten the rotating bowl, and two steel bows are supporting the bowl and lighten the heavy load for the two bearings.
The Cover of the decanter centrifuges will be locked with bolts before transport. In order to move the decanter centrifuge conveniently, GN engineers fixed it on a wooden pallet. Some parts will be fixed on the pallet such as discharging port. VFD control panel will be located on a wooden pallet just like the decanter centrifuge.
Some other equipments such as shale shakers, they will be fixed tightly with large bolts in case they are vibrating during transporting.
