This week, GN Solids Control had the privilege of participating in the highly anticipated 2024 Beijing CIPPE, also known as the 24th China International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition. Held at the prestigious Beijing New China International Exhibition Center, this event is a global gathering of leading companies in the oil and gas drilling industry.

During the exhibition, GN Solids Control showcased its latest and most innovative equipment, demonstrating its commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions for the industry. One of the highlights was the GN ViST Shaker, a traditional shaker enhanced with a vacuum screen unit. This remarkable piece of equipment can recover up to 20-30% of liquid from drilling mud, significantly reducing waste and the need for new mud investment over time.

Furthermore, GN also exhibited its decanter centrifuges, which are the core of solids and liquid separation. These centrifuges, including the 2-phase GNLW632A and GNLW554FT-VFD models, as well as the Second Generation 3-phase GNLWS364FT-VFD, are designed to provide efficient and reliable separation of solids and liquids.

Another noteworthy piece of equipment was the GN disc stack separator, specifically the 3-phase GNSD90 model. This separator rapidly separates solids and liquids through high-speed centrifugal force, ensuring efficient and effective separation.

For those dealing with oily drilling cuttings, GN presented its Cuttings Dryer. This dryer is widely used for OBM and SBM treatment, effectively reducing the oil content in cuttings to less than 5%. GN offers this dryer with various screen basket sizes to cater to different materials, ensuring optimal performance.

Moreover, GN Solids Control also showcased its Solids Vacuum Pump models GNSP-10B and GNSP-40B. These pumps provide a reliable solution for moving high-viscosity drilling cuttings, solids, or sludge, making the handling of such materials much easier.

Lastly, the Screw Conveyor, which is widely used to remove drill cuttings discharged from shakers, desanders, and desilters, was also a star attraction at the exhibition. This conveyor is an effective solids transfer unit within a certain length, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.

In a significant milestone for our company, we have successfully sold our comprehensive Drilling Cuttings Management System to a valued customer in the Middle East. This system, tailor-made for efficient drilling cuttings management, will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency and environmental sustainability in the oilfields of this region.

The core component of this system is our Vertical Cuttings Dryer, model GNCD930G. This state-of-the-art dryer is designed to rapidly and effectively reduce the moisture content of drilling cuttings, making it easier to handle and dispose of. Its vertical design ensures maximum efficiency and minimal space utilization, making it an ideal choice for oilfields with limited space.

Complementing the dryer is our Decanter Centrifuge, model GNLW363D-VFD. This powerful machine separates solids from liquids with precision, further reducing the moisture content of the cuttings and enabling their reuse or safe disposal. The variable frequency drive (VFD) allows for precise control of the centrifuge’s speed, optimizing its performance based on the specific requirements of the drilling operation.

To ensure smooth and efficient feeding of the centrifuge, we have included two GNG Centrifuge Feed Pumps. These pumps are designed to handle the viscous and abrasive nature of drilling cuttings, ensuring a continuous and reliable supply to the centrifuge.

For efficient transportation of the dried cuttings, we have included three Screw Conveyors. These conveyors are robust and durable, capable of handling heavy loads and operating in tough environments. They will play a crucial role in transporting the cuttings from the dryer to the storage or disposal area.

Lastly, we have provided a complete set of skid-mounted supports for the centrifuge and dryer. These skids not only provide a stable foundation for the machines but also facilitate easy installation and relocation if needed.

The GN Dewatering Decanter Centrifuge, characterized by its distinctive 8.5-degree beach angle, stands as an exceptional solution for dewatering applications. Primarily employed for industrial wastewater sludge, this centrifuge has a design geared towards easy mud separation. It effectively handles a spectrum of challenges, encompassing large particle sizes, significant density disparities between solids and liquids, low viscosities, high concentrations, and robust treatment capacities, all while delivering enhanced dryness and good clarity. When dealing with sludges or wastewater laden with fine particles, the inclusion of flocculants assists in aggregating these particles, subsequently facilitating efficient dewatering with the Dewatering Decanter Centrifuge.

This decanter centrifuge finds versatile applications across a diverse range of materials, including drilling mud, sewage, cutting(especially water-based mud), and others. It addresses the dewatering needs of intricate substances such as sludge and wastewater. To optimize the dewatering process, the centrifuge capitalizes on its distinct features and advancements.
One of its notable features is the 8.5-degree beach angle, extending the cone section and thereby augmenting the drying and dewatering zones. Constructed with advanced materials like duplex stainless steel SUS2205 or SUS2304, the shaft caps and bowl ends outperform traditional alternatives. The utilization of centrifugal casting and die-forging processes ensures durability by mitigating intergranular corrosion and residual stress issues. The CNC spiral blade forming equipment is employed to press the screw blade, offering superior slag-conveying efficiency compared to traditional methods.
Further enhancing efficiency, the screw blade’s design can be tailored to specific material properties. Additionally, an optimized beach angle, pitch, and the inclusion of a BD baffle plate segregate the dewatering and sedimentation zones. This design fosters clearer and drier separated liquid, while also reducing energy consumption. A double cone design suits high-concentration and high-viscosity materials, bolstering slag discharge resistance and increasing treatment capacity.

Furthermore, wear-resistant components like the tungsten carbide sleeve at the solid discharge port and user-friendly features such as adjustable overflow weir plates and gas spring-assisted collection box covers contribute to the centrifuge’s overall durability and ease of use. These features, combined with innovative bearing designs and machine monitoring systems, position the GN Dewatering Decanter Centrifuge as a reliable and efficient solution for industries grappling with complex dewatering challenges.
