GNMS -500GL 500 GPM mud system is a top option for horizontal directional drilling mud system . This is 3 phased cleaning with shale shaker , desander and desilter cleaning . But how this mud system working princedure on Job Site ?

For HDD drilling , when mud from rig out of hole , mud will be guide to a mud pit a mud tank , one set vertical slurry pump will pick up mud and feed to first phase cleaning shale shaker  buffer box though a soft rubber pipe .

The buffer box will reduce mud speed and avoid to much flush of shaker screen , there are 3 decks for shale shaker for first phase cleaning . If installed 40 mesh shaker screen , it will separate solids around 400 microns . The solids particals will be discharged out of shaker by a shaker vibrating and fluids particals will drop into first compartment in recycling tank .

1# centrifugal pump will pick up mud from first compartment and feed desander though pipeline , by a correct pressure , the desander will separate solids around 50 – 60 microns , the solids particals will discharge though desander nozzle and drop onto shaker screen on second shaker , the fluids particals will over flow and drop to second compartment .

2# centrifugal pump will pick up mud from second compartment and feed mud into desilter cyclones , by the correct pressure , solids will be discharge from desilter nozzle and drop on to screens on second shaker , the fluids particals will be over flow and drop to third compartment . Both solids drop onto second shaker , final solids will discharge out by shaker bivrating and fluids recycled into second compartment .

3# centrifugal sit on tank skid for mixing mud in third compartment when need new mud or need add new chemicals .

GNLW553VFD model is the GN big bowl decanter centrifuge with VFD control panel to make centrifuge speed changeable from zero from 3200 RPM by separation size 2 – 7 microns . It is tungsten carbide tiles bolted on tile frame and frame welded on screw impeller . Special ceramic protection material installed on solids discharge point and mud distribution point . It is duplex stainless steel material 2205 which is better than SS316 or SS304 material for centrifugal casing to make it better performance . The bowl diameter 550 mm and bowl length 1700 mm with stainless steel for collection box .

Dewatering unit main contains chemical treatment to allow decanter centrifuge get a better separation point . The chemicals will help suspended solids and fine solids gather together , so that decanter centrifuge can separate them out by centrifugal force .

Main Working Procedure For Dewatering Unit

1. Put flocculant into hopper and keep sure there are enough flocculant all the time .
2. Open water inlet and start auger to pre-mix flocculant , there will be water enter first compartment of mixing tank while pre-mixed flocculant drop into tank for mix , one set agitator installed to help .
3. Flocculant fluids will over flow to second compartment to allow it keep more than 30 minutes before goes into decanter centrifuge . While the flocculant fluids get more and more, it will over flow into third compartment .
4. There is one or two pump suction from third compartment and feed into decanter centrifuge .
5. There will be another pump supply mud to decanter centrifuge while flocculant fluids be pumping into centrifuge , there will be a pipe for flocculant fluids and mud pre-mix to gather solids particals . The solids out of centrifuge will be keep in a cuttings box and fluids part can be reused .
6. There is another part for chemicals mix which is a plastic tank with a small agitator for easy mix particals . Open water inlet and put correct qty of chemicals into tank , it will be mixed soon and then can be delivery into centrifuge by another pump .

Because of the chemical fuctions , the main solids particals will be separated out and product will be very clean and can be re-use on drilling site . Linear motion shale shaker sit on tank end with 500 GPM mud capacity by model GNZS703E –DZ top sit buffer box . The shaker deck angle is adjustable which will help solids discharge or solids dryness by adjust angle of deck . It can be installed frame plat shaker screen or pyramid screen depending on client option by 40 mesh size .

Another set linear motion shale shaker sit on the other tank end with a frame which installed 1 set ten inch desander cone and eight sets four inch desilter cone . The desander and desilter cone can treat mud for 500 GPM capacity and the bottom shaker deck will be working for dry drilling solids discharged out of desander and desilter cone .

One set 20 feet size mud tank to hold mud for mud recycling , the mud tank is divided into 3 compartments for different size of solids separation . There are 2 set centrifugal pump sit on tank skid , the 2 sets centrifugal pump will be working to feeding GNZJ703 -1S10N mud cleaner , one set pump feed for one pc desander cone and the other pump feed for eight pcs desilter cone . The desander cone can separate solids above 50 – 60 microns and desilter will separate solids above 20 micron .
